Mahatma Gandhi needs no introduction. Everyone knows about the man who led the Indian people to independence from British rule in 1947. He was born on October 2, 1869 and this day is celebrated as Gandhi Jayanti in India. UNO declared October 2 as International Day of Non-violence. Mahatma was the title given to him by Rabindranath Tagore and he is known as Father of Indian nation.
