Felix Baumgartner breaks record for high-altitude skydiving
"Sometimes you have to go up really high to understand how small you are" – Felix Baumgartner, standing outside his capsule at an altitude of 24 miles (39 km) on October 14, 2012.
Well, Felix has gone and done it. Today over the arid countryside near Roswell, New Mexico, the Austrian daredevil successfully accomplished a feat that has been in the works since 2003 – he broke the record for the world’s highest parachute jump, dropping from an unofficial altitude of 128,100 feet (39,045 meters) – about 1.5 miles (2.4 km) higher than expected.
Man attempts to "walk" across Irish sea in a human hamster wheel
A man is attempting to walk across the Irish Sea - in a human HAMSTER WHEEL. Chris Todd, 35, from Bromham, Wiltshire, will zig-zag 66 miles across open water for two days non-stop. He will power his metal wheel - which he calls a Tredalo - by walking on wire mesh, with two floats either side to act as stabilisers. The charity stunt will see him burn a huge 36,000 calories - almost three weeks worth - during the endurance feat. He will consume a whopping 30 litres of water and munch the equivalent of 60 Mars bars to keep energy levels up.

The Black Dot.
A small town chamber of commerce invited a speaker to address its annual dinner. The community’s economy was bad, people were discouraged, and they wanted this motivational speaker to give them a boost.
During her presentation, the speaker took a large piece of white paper and made a small black dot in the centre of it with a marking pen. Then she held the paper up before the group and ask them what they saw.
